
Being a good-faith taxpayer, JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transfers taxes into local and federal budgets always in due time and in full. Each work place in the port creates 6-8 work places in the city. The group’s personnel numbers over 2 thousand people.
The work environment is constantly improving; preventive medical examinations are held on a regular basis. The enterprises of the company use target fund to support their personnel. 1% of salary fund is transferred to the target fund every month. The fund’s disbursement is controlled by the commissions elected from the number of personnel. The main advantages of the target fund are in the transparency of expenses and in accessible support to all the employees irrespective of their membership in any professional unions.

“Social Development” is organized in the port. Great attention is paid to sanatorium-resort treatment and rest of the company’s employees and members of their families. Port workers and their children spend their vacations in the recreation camp “Mayak” located in the area of nature resort in the picturesque part of Karelia Isthmus.
In order to smooth the adjustment process and quicken the training of new employees the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” approved the regulations “On guardianship”. According to these regulations experienced employees who take under their patronage young workers receive additional payment.
In order to encourage the best employees JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” established the company’s award – gold and silver badges of honor. Badge of honor is given together with the diploma and cash bonus.
In 2010 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” was granted a “Certificate of trust to the employer”, which certifies that the company was included in the register of the employers observing labour rights of employees.
The company supports the Council of Port Veterans that works more than 26 years. On quarterly basis veterans get welfare assistance from the former employer. On the eve of public holidays the company organizes special concerts for them.
The employees of the company learn about the latest production news, development plans and life of their colleagues from the corporate newspaper “Our company “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”. The newspaper is issued every week with a circulation of 3000 copies.
For several decades “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” has rendered assistance to Saint-Petersburg orphan home No.10. Due to this assistance, the orphan home managed to finish the capital renovation of the building, equip the premises, purchase furniture, sport equipment, home appliances and a mini-bus.
In 2007 “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” won the first prize in the review competition among guardianship boards of orphan homes of Saint-Petersburg and was awarded a badge of honour “For humanization of schools of Saint-Petersburg” and letter of award from the Governor. 
Jointly with Shooting Union of Russia the group of companies founded “Sport Shooting Club “Olimpiez”, which was established in the end of 2006 with the support of the Administration of Saint-Petersburg. This club is aimed at restoration and development of Olympic shooting events, shooting sport for children and provision of training grounds for professional shooters and amateurs.
On the base of this club since 2008 unique training center for young shooters with professional methods of training has been functioning. According to the results of participation in competitions in 2010 the best trainees of the Centre were included in Saint-Petersburg team in trap-shooting. For the first time since 1996 Saint-Petersburg sportsmen were participating in Federal and Regional trap-shooting competitions.
In 2010 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred over 39.6 mln. rubles for the implementation of the social projects, which is by 21% more than in 2009.
Many times “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” has become the primary sponsor of the International arts festival “Master-class”, the annual regatta “Saint-Petersburg sailing week, and a partner of Saint-Petersburg stage of International regatta for training sailing ships “THE TALL SHIPS RACES”; rendered assistance to the Baltic clinical hospital, children’s sport clubs, to restoration of Epiphany church.
