The port can accommodate vessels with the deadweight up to 60 thousand tons and draft up to 11 m. At its disposal “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” has 36 berths with the total length of 6.5 km, roofed storage area of 55 thousand sq. m, outdoor storage grounds of 600 thousand sq. m, over 80 gantry cranes up to 40 tons hoisting capacity, a floating crane of 300 tons capacity, more than 300 different specialized loading mechanisms. The total number of employees of the entire group is over three and a half thousand people.

Navigation lasts all the year round. From the end of November till the beginning of April the Nevsky bay is covered with ice. During this period sailing of vessels to and out of the port is assisted by ice-breakers.
