JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” is the largest operator providing dry cargo handling in Saint-Petersburg port and the North-West of Russia. Founded on the base of Leningrad Sea Commercial Port, the group of companies has enjoyed successful development in the market environment.
JSC "Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg" is included in UCL Port,- subholding, consolidating stevedoring assets of the International transportation group UCL Holding – CJSC "Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg", LLC "Multipurpose Reloading Complex" at the North-West of Russia and Tuapse and Taganrog Sea Ports at the South of the country. Development strategy of the UCL Port envisages the modernization of the existing terminals and construction of new terminals for handling of general, bulk and container cargoes.
“Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” renders full spectrum of stevedoring services round the clock 365 days a year. All types of cargoes, including heavy-lifts and out-of-gauge cargoes are accepted for operations. Handling of project cargoes at the terminals of the company is carried out in cooperation with the logistic company “Universal Forwarder” (part of UCL Holding).
The port can accommodate vessels with the deadweight up to 60 thousand tons and draft up to 11 m. Design bureau and production engineering service of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg have a long-term experience in working out operational charts and production of devices for handling of non-standard cargoes. The Port has a well-developed infrastructure, which includes railway lines and crane rails, automobile roads, engineering communications, repair workshops, fueling stations, water treatment facilities. The group of companies includes energy service company which provides the corresponding range of services.
The company operates on the berths leased from Saint-Petersburg division of Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Rosmorport”, using its own handling equipment.
At its disposal “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” has 28 berths with the total length of 4.8 km, roofed storage area of 65 thousand sq. m, outdoor storage grounds of 306 thousand sq. m, over 56 gantry cranes up to 40 tons hoisting capacity, a floating crane of 300 tons capacity, 258 different specialized loading mechanisms. The total number of employees of the entire group is over two thousand people.
In 2010 the company handled over 6.8 mln. tons of cargoes. The share of the company in the total turnover of the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg came to approximately 12 %.
